Message from the President
Greetings to all my fellow IAPians, friends and our beloved community. It’s a good time to be part of the Pune IAP as we see ourselves better equipped than ever to achieve all the targets we set out to achieve as an organization striving to improve child health in our city and adjacent areas. The year gone by has been outstanding to say the least. Together we have reached heights greater than ever before with our work recognized all over the country. Academically we have really raised the bar via the various activities all through the year that have upgraded the knowledge of the general pediatrician and impacted the overall level of care. We have through our community initiative created mass awareness on multiple health issues surrounding our children today and built a steady rapport with the public. And last but not the least, as a group today, the Pediatricians in the city stand more united than ever having rediscovered their non-academic sides and renewed their bonds with old friends.
As we move into a new year, it is my sheer privilege to bring to you, possibly my final act as President of IAP Pune – our very own website – a long awaited project that will only enhance the way we function. As I usher in this new era, I wish to give you all the tools to work faster, more efficiently and in a manner that will be as user friendly as possible for all our members and non-members alike. The website has been designed keeping in mind the needs of not just the IAP Board members or the Pediatricians but also the public. It will feature all the latest IAP guidelines with frequent academic updates from around the country and will also give every user an insight into the working of the IAP. Registering for any conference will be a mouse-click away. Events will be put up in advance while the questions of the common public will also be answered. All in all, it will be the ideal start to the new year where we aim to establish ourselves firmly as one of the top academic chapters in the country. With this, I wish all my team members the best of luck and I wish that our medical students, faculty, administrators and staff stand out for their commitment to academic excellence, diversity, vibrancy, and creative innovation.
